Soumitra Chatterjee Health Update: Veteran Actor Discharged From Hospital, Reaches Home
Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who was getting treated after he complained of breathing problems, was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday. The 84-year-old actor was admitted in the private hospital on August 14. His family shared the news.

Doctor has advised the veteran actor to follow a regular diet and has been kept under complete rest. The actor was kept under observation for 48 hours.

Soumitra Chatterjee is one of the known name in the Bengali entertainment industry. The actor has been featured in 14 films by Satyajit Ray and had been conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The actor has appeared in over 250 films and is also a recipient of Legion of Honour from the French government.

Soumitra Chatterjee has acted in Apur Sansar. He also featured in a number of films by Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha and modern day directors.  Soumitra Chatterjee is also a poet, non-fiction writer, theatre personality, editor of a popular literary magazine and elocutionist. In Debotar Grash, Naseeruddin Shah and Soumitra Chatterjee will be sharing space.
